The all-new Kia Seltos was recently launched in Singapore via FB Live on Kia Singapore’s FB page, and what a car it is. First of all – the design of the Seltos is pretty eye-catching, and in some ways looks bigger than it actually is thanks to the muscular curves on the car.
If you look closely, it kinda reminds you abit of the range rover Evoque, or even a Velar.
Starting at $118,999 – it seems more on the expensive side, especially since small SUVs cost typically in the 100k range (Hyundai Venue, Nissan Qashqai, Honda HR-V all cost around $100k or less).
Even a full-sized SUV like the Subaru Forester and Mitsubishi Outlander is cheaper than the Seltos (but may be down on features, of course).
The Seltos is however, is abit more feature rich and comes with a 1.4 litre turbo engine that reaches 100km/h from standstill in 9.8 seconds (but as with alot of turbo engines, it may feel faster than that).
The Seltos produces 140hp and 242Nm of torque from it’s 1.4 litre turbo engine, mated to the front wheels via a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission.
With the Seltos GT Line, which is the only one available in Singapore right now, you get LED headlamps and LED rearlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips on the outside.
Inside, the highlights of the Seltos include the flat-bottom steering wheel with GT line badging, sunshade curtains, smartphone wireless charging, 10.25 inch touchscreen display (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), heads up display, ventilated front seats, sunroof, park distance warning, reverse camera, 6 airbags, drive mode select (sand, snow, mud, sport, eco and normal) and cruise control.
